Vehicle Size Modifiers Explained
Bigger vehicles take more product, more time, and more surface to work. We categorize vehicles into three buckets for pricing consistency. If you are unsure where your vehicle falls, send us the year, make, and model and we will tell you the exact price.
| Size | Examples | Adder |
|---|---|---|
| Sedan / Coupe | Camry, Civic, Accord, 3 Series, Mustang | Base price |
| Crossover / Small SUV | RAV4, CR-V, Rogue, Equinox, Compass | +$25 to +$50 |
| Full SUV / Pickup | F-150, Tahoe, Silverado, Tundra, Pilot | +$50 to +$100 |
| 3-row SUV / Van / Lifted truck | Suburban, Yukon XL, Pacifica, Sienna, lifted Ram | +$75 to +$200 |
What Affects Your Final Price
Three things move the number on the quote: vehicle size, vehicle condition, and the protection package you choose. A clean three year old Camry that gets washed weekly costs less to detail than a ten year old SUV with pet hair, sand, and oxidation. We quote based on the photos or description you send us before the appointment.
Vehicle size
Covered in the table above. Bigger vehicle = more time and product = higher price. The adder is flat per size category, not per square foot.
Current condition
A maintained car costs the base price. A car that has been neglected for years (heavy oxidation, deep stains, embedded sand, severe pet hair) may add $50 to $150 to the base full detail. We tell you up front before we touch the vehicle.
Paint protection level
Wax: 6 to 8 weeks of protection. Sealant: 4 to 6 months. Ceramic coating: 1 to 5 years. The longer the protection, the higher the price, but the cost per protected month drops dramatically with ceramic.
Payment Methods
Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), cash, Venmo, Zelle, and Apple Pay. Payment is due after the walk-through. No deposit required for standard packages. Ceramic coating and paint correction over $500 may require a 25 percent deposit to hold the slot.
Pricing FAQ
Are your prices firm?
Yes. The quote we send you is the price you pay, unless the vehicle condition is significantly different from what you described. In that case we call before doing additional work and confirm a revised price.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. Recurring maintenance customers (every 6 to 8 weeks) get 10 to 15 percent off. Multi-vehicle bookings at the same address get 10 percent off each additional vehicle. First responders and military: 10 percent off any service.
Do prices include tax?
Florida does not tax most auto detailing services performed on personal vehicles. Commercial fleet contracts may include applicable tax. The quote always shows the total you pay.
What is the cheapest detailing option you offer?
A standalone exterior detail at $90-$150 is the entry point. It includes foam bath, contact wash, wheel detail, tire dressing, and a quick wax. Great for routine maintenance between full details. For interior-only at the budget end, ask about a vacuum-and-wipedown package starting around 30 percent below interior detail pricing.
What is the most popular package?
The full detail (interior plus exterior) at $175-$325 sedan base. Roughly 60 percent of bookings. Customers who want long-term paint protection upgrade to full detail plus 3 year ceramic coating, which is the second most popular combination.
How does Markus Detailing pricing compare to shop detailing in Tampa?
Mobile detailing in Tampa Bay runs roughly 10 to 20 percent above brick-and-mortar shops because of equipment, travel, and time. What you trade for the slight premium: no drop-off, no rideshare home, no waiting room time, and the owner does the work instead of a rotating shop crew. Most customers find the convenience worth the difference.
Why do ceramic coatings cost so much?
Ceramic coating cost reflects three things: the coating product itself ($150 to $400 in raw material for premium options like Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light), the multi-stage paint correction that has to happen before the coating bonds, and the 4 to 8 hour install plus 12 to 24 hour cure window. The cost per protected month over 5 years is lower than maintenance waxing.
What happens if I am not happy with the result?
We do not leave until you are satisfied. The walk-through at the end of every job exists specifically to surface any concerns before payment so we can fix them on the spot. If something genuinely came out wrong after you have left, call us within 48 hours and we will come back to address it at no charge.
Bundles and Common Combinations
Three combinations save money and time when bundled at booking. Pricing below assumes a sedan-size vehicle. Larger vehicles add the size modifier from the table above. Bundles are quoted as a single price, not as sum of parts.
| Bundle | What is included | Bundle savings |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh | Exterior detail + interior detail + headlight restoration | ~10% |
| Reset | Full detail + paint correction (1-step) + headlight restoration | ~12% |
| Protect | Full detail + paint correction (1-step) + 3 year ceramic coating | ~15% |

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is your full detail price a range and not a fixed number?
Vehicle size and current condition both move the number. A clean sedan that gets washed weekly costs the base. A 10 year old SUV with pet hair and oxidation costs more. We quote the firm price after you send vehicle details or photos.
Do you charge extra to come to my house?
No, not within 25 miles of Wesley Chapel. Between 25 and 45 miles a small travel fee may apply and is included in the quote up front. There are no surprise travel charges at the end.
Can I get a discount for booking multiple vehicles?
Yes. Multi-vehicle bookings at the same address get 10 percent off each additional vehicle. Fleet accounts of 5 or more vehicles get custom volume pricing.
Do you require a deposit?
Not for standard packages. Ceramic coating and paint correction jobs over $500 may require a 25 percent deposit to hold the slot, refundable if you cancel 48 hours in advance.
